Questions and answers
Everything sellers usually ask us, in one place.
How do you work out your prices?
Every morning we download Cardmarket's price guide, the public record of what cards sell for across Europe. We take each card's price trend, turn it into pounds at that day's exchange rate, and pay a share of it: the more a card is worth, the bigger the share. Each card page shows the Cardmarket figure next to our offer.
How long is my price guaranteed?
14 days from the moment you send your list. If your cards reach us in that time, we pay the prices you were shown, even if the market drops. If they arrive later we use the prices of the day they arrive, and if that means less, we ask you before paying.
Cash or store credit?
Both. Store credit is worth more: up to 80% of the market value instead of 70%. Store credit goes onto your Dice & Dumplings account to spend in the shop.
How and when do I get paid?
By bank transfer, PayPal, cash at the counter or store credit, whichever you choose. We aim to pay within 2 working days of checking your cards. We check parcels within 3 working days of them arriving.
Is there a minimum?
Yes, lists need to be worth at least £10 in cash. For smaller amounts, just bring the cards to the shop.
Who pays for postage?
You post the cards to us. On lists worth over £100 we add £4 to your payment towards it. Use a tracked service and keep the receipt: the parcel is yours until it reaches us.
What if you grade my cards differently?
We check every card against our condition guide. If a card is in a different condition, missing, or a different version, we adjust that line and show you exactly what changed and why. You then accept the new total or ask for the cards back.
Do you buy cards in other languages?
For Magic, yes: English cards get the full price. German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian cards get 60% of it. For One Piece and Riftbound we buy English cards only for now.
Do you buy bulk, commons and uncommons?
Not one by one online: Magic cards worth under £0.40 count as bulk. Bring your bulk to the shop and we will make you an offer for the lot.
Do you buy graded cards or sealed product?
Not through this site yet. Send us a message with what you have and we will get back to you.
Why does a card say “Ask us”?
Cards worth £1,000 or more get a personal offer instead of a formula price. Message us and we will reply with an offer, usually within a day.
Can I drop my cards at the shop?
Yes. Choose “Drop them at the shop” when you send your list, then bring the cards to the counter and tell us your list code. Big collection? Choose “Book a visit” and we will set a time to go through it with you.
Are my bank details safe?
They are encrypted as soon as they reach us, only the person paying you can see them, and we delete them once you have been paid. We never ask for card numbers or passwords.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time until we receive your cards: open the link in your email and choose Cancel. After that, send us a message and we will sort it out.
Why is a card not on your list?
We list every card that has a Cardmarket price. Tokens, art cards and cards without a recent price are left out. If you think we have missed one, tell us.
